If you just started working out at the gym or even you have been training for many years, you have probably asked yourself “SHOULD I DO STRENGHT OR CARDIO FIRST IN MY WORKOUT?”
This question always comes back and I understand because I have been asking myself the same question before.
THERE IS NO GOOD ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION! IT ALL COMES DOWN TO YOUR PRIORITY!
To explain my point, I like to compare my energy level to a gas tank. When you are starting your workout (e.g. your trip), your fuel-energy level is full. Every time you do an exercise (e.g. a mile), your fuel gets down a bit. So logically, your energy level is higher at the beginning and lower at the end of your training session. No need to be Einstein to understand this concept.
Depending on YOUR PRIORITY, if you want to put more emphasis on your cardio because you want to run the next marathon in your hometown or you simply want to lose weight, then you should start your training with cardio.
By doing so, you are optimizing your energy to YOUR PRIORITY and you become way more efficient!
On the other hand, if YOUR PRIORITY is to gain weight or strength, then you should start your training with strength exercices… =)
I hope this tip can help you!
